Welcome to the Rune Practitioner Course
You have completed DIV-201: Introduction to Runes. You know the Elder Futhark — all 24 runes, their names, their Aettir, their essential meanings. You have cast runes, made bindrunes, sat with the myth of Odin's nine-night sacrifice, and begun a daily practice.
Now something different is asked of you.
DIV-202 is not a course in more runic information. It is a course in depth — in the development of a qualitatively different relationship with the runes you already know. At the Foundation level, you learned to read the runes. At the Practitioner level, you begin to let the runes read you.
Over twelve lessons, you will move through the runes' elemental relationships and their mapping onto the Norse cosmological framework of Yggdrasil and the Nine Worlds. You will learn to read the Aettir as narrative forces — the full story that every cast is telling beneath the surface of individual rune messages. You will work with galdr and runic meditation at a level of depth and intentionality that Foundation practice could only prepare you for, not deliver. You will anchor your practice to the living rhythms of the Norse sacred year and the lunar cycle. You will engage with the ethics and skill of reading for others. And you will work with runic magic at a Practitioner level — not as an exotic supplement to divination, but as the completion of a tradition that was always both divinatory and operative.
This course assumes you have genuinely undertaken Foundation practice. If significant gaps remain in your DIV-201 work, fill them before proceeding. The depth available in these twelve lessons is proportional to the foundation they build on.

What This Course Covers
- Lesson 1 — The Runes Revisited: Reading with Deeper Eyes — Establishing the Practitioner's orientation: what changes at this level, what the tradition asks of someone ready to deepen, and how to carry Foundation knowledge into genuinely new territory.
- Lesson 2 — Advanced Single-Rune Interpretation: Nuance, Context & Shadow — The three faces of every rune: upright expression, shadow expression, and contextual expression. How to read shadow without fatalism, and how to develop genuine interpretive flexibility.
- Lesson 3 — Elemental Relationships in the Futhark — Fire, water, air, and earth in the runic system. How elemental relationships between runes shape the reading of any multi-rune cast.
- Lesson 4 — The Norse Cosmological Map: Yggdrasil & the Nine Worlds — A thorough introduction to the World Tree and all nine worlds, with runic correspondences for each world and guidance on using the cosmological map in readings.
- Lesson 5 — Runic Meditation & Galdr: Chanting the Runes — The theory and practice of galdr — vocal activation of runic force. The single-rune meditation and the nine-night immersion practice.
- Lesson 6 — Advanced Spreads for the Rune Practitioner — Four advanced spread structures: the Seven-Rune Spread, the Nine Worlds Cast, the Norn's Weave, and the Runic Year Compass.
- Lesson 7 — Reading the Aettir Together: The Full Story in a Cast — Reading Aett distribution as a narrative layer beneath individual rune messages. Cross-Aett tensions and the full story they tell.
- Lesson 8 — Runes & the Natural World: Seasonal & Lunar Practice — The eight turning points of the Norse sacred year, with specific runic associations and practices for each. Lunar cycle integration.
- Lesson 9 — Reading for Others: Ethics, Depth & the Practitioner's Responsibility — The ethical foundations of reading for another person: consent, honesty, humility, appropriate scope, and the skills of genuine service.
